Bajo el título “Dibujos de Christian Dior” se estrenará este domingo en Film and Arts este documental que accede por primera vez a la bóveda de dibujos originales del diseñador. A través de sus dibujos, sus modelos y modistas cuentan detalles de la vida en los talleres. Las creaciones del diseñador francés marcaron entre 1947 y 1957 qué largo tendrían las faldas, si el escote sería como una H, una Y o una A y de qué material serían los vestidos de Alta Costura.
La llegada de Christian Dior a la popularidad se dio en medio de un escándalo. Cuando creó lo que luego se llamó el “New look” fue duramente criticado porque se oponía completamente al tipo de vestimenta de entonces. Como recién de terminaba la Segunda Guerra Mundial, toda Europa, y Francia en particular, llevaban la austeridad como emblema y Dior preparó un desfile en el que se veían capas y capas de tela, voluptuosidad en las figuras, una estética que recuperaba iconografía del siglo XVIII.
Mucha gente vio ofensivo que en ese período oscuro y con escasez de recursos el diseñador promoviera la pomposidad, sin embargo, también fue una forma de resistencia e incluso de confrontación a todo lo que el nazismo, los totalitarismos y la era bélica representaban. Sin ir más lejos, en Argentina ocurrió un fenómeno similar a principio de los ’80 cuando se recomponía la democracia; aparecieron bandas como Virus o Los Abuelos de la Nada que se vestían con colores y brillo y proponían canciones para bailar –cosa que no había sucedido antes con el rock nacional-, también nació la movida del Parakultural y el uso del arte como exorcismo y catarsis de alegría para revertir el oscuro manto que había dejado la dictadura y también para recuperar la libertad de los cuerpos.

En el documental sus fieles modistas recuerdan con mucho cariño cómo cada año Dior generaba una nueva tendencia para que sus clientas volvieran a comprarles sus trajes. También fue el creador de una figura muy delgada de sus dibujos que en aquellos años coincidía con la delgadez imperante por los duros años en los que los alimentos eran racionados durante la larga guerra.
La historia recorre su vida hasta su muerte a los 52 años, un capítulo imprescindible de la historia de la moda mundial. Se estrenará el domingo 21 de junio a las 19 por Film and arts.
